The Harkamaya College of Education is a constituent college of Rhenock Educational Society, fully Self Financed in nature. The college is located in Samdur, Tadong, Gangtok. This college has come into existence in the year 2003 as a passport to the prospective teachers. The college is affiliated to Sikkim University (Central) and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It offers one year B.Ed. course from the session 2003 – 04 and one year M.Ed. course from the session 2006 – 07.

The aims and objectives of this college is to provide prospective teachers the knowledge and understanding of pedagogy, skills essential for quality education, to help teachers in understanding the nature of the child, his/her abilities, aptitude, emotions, instincts, ambitions etc,. to provide teachers a clear understanding of historical background of Indian culture and education vis-a-vis Educational system of other countries and above all to prepare prospective and quality teachers who can bring desirable development in society through educational inputs.
