The Himalayan Pharmacy Institute is the only institution conducting Pharmacy courses in the State. It started the Diploma course in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the year 1990 and Degree course in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the year 1997.

The Institute is situated at Majhitar, four kilometer ahead of Rangpo, the border town of West Bengal and Sikkim. Majhitar is 70km away from Siliguri, (West Bengal) 40km remain to Gangtok by the side of the National Highway 31A. The nearest Railway Station is New Jalpaiguri and the Airport is Bagdogra.
